We are delighted to report that the crowdfunding appeal for two-year-old Florence Jackson yesterday passed the £200,000 market – given by a remarkable 8,000 supporters in nine days.
After we declared last Friday to be #FlorenceDay your donations were among those which poured in to help Florence, daughter of estate agent Rodney and his wife Caz. Many of you also helped boost the appeal through social media.
Florence – whose smile has captured the hearts of so many – is very ill with a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma, and has so far endured an enormous number of treatments, including surgery, radiotherapy and immunotherapy.
The toddler is currently on her 21st round of chemotherapy after being diagnosed just over a year ago but doctors in this country say her tumour is inoperable.
Her best hope now is to go to America, where a specialist surgeon has had remarkable success in operating on cases like Florence’s.
But this will, of course, cost money and time is not on the Jackson family’s side.
There is still some £50,000 to go for the appeal to hit its £250,000 target.
Your donations are appreciated beyond words by dad Rodney, who is a senior negotiator with Proctors at their branch in West Wickham, Kent.
